Representatives of the Royal Golf Club Mariánské Lázně took part in the tournament of royal golf clubs which was held on the occasion of 150th anniversary of Canada’s existence. The tournament was organised by the Royal Quebec Golf Club. The festive event was attended by representatives of 31 out of the total 66 royal golf clubs from around the world.

The Royal Golf Club Mariánské Lázně was introduced by its vice-president Kirill Kožuchov and his wife Elena and by Jan Filip, a member of the club who has been actively involved in the functioning of the club for more than 20 years, and his wife and a writer Eva Filipiová. At first, members of the Czech delegation were informed about the way the Royal Montreal Golf Club works. However, the main programme took place three hours ride from Montreal, that is in Quebec, one of the most beautiful cities in Canada. The guests had an opportunity to see a festive parade and raising of the flag. A new anthem of the royal golf clubs composed by a Canadian musician Steve Barakatt was played for the first time during the parade. Michel Doyon, the governor of the Quebec province, invited the Czech delegation for a business breakfast meeting. Together they discussed the history of the Mariánské Lázně golf club and talked about the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries. They also exchanged commemorative gifts. In the tournament, the Royal Golf Club Mariánské Lázně came 22nd out of 31 clubs. At the gala evening the representatives of the Royal Quebec Golf Club received a keepsake crystal plate made by the Rukl Crystal company.
